EXPERIMENT THREE-THE ARCHITECTURE

The Bridge is built for the students from the school of architecture, connected Square House and Fitness & Aquatic Center. The theory of the building is The introduction of multi-functional space and easily walkable route help form a  compact ,"lean" as well as cohesive community, which is inspired by Architect Paolo Soleri.

The bridge has two levels and it is combined fixed space and movable space to achieve the goal of the "compact& multiple-used" space. For example, the relatively private and quite space such as offices for academic staff and general staff, research space for academic staff are set at the fixed areas. In addition,the rooms with heavy materials and equipment, such as workshops, computer labs and the library are also fixed space. 

In contrast, as gallery, theater, meeting rooms and studios for students all require discussion and conversation, at the same time, the required furniture for these rooms are easy to move and the occupancy time is flexible, they are all placed at the center circle, whose room size can be changed through the movable walls (please see in "the moving elements" blog).
